The collar zone (SHVZ)
is the back surface of the neck, chest up to the IV thoracic vertebra and the front surface of the chest up to the level of the II rib. Usually the anterior surface of the chest is not included in the massage of the neck-collar zone. Since the area of the anterior surface of the chest to the II thoracic vertebra is usually included in facial massage.
INDICATIONS FOR MASSAGE
• headache, insomnia, overwork;
• hypertension, hypotension;
• neurological condition;
• cervicothoracic osteochondrosis;
• violations of posture;
• diseases of the musculoskeletal system;
• diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
• diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
• climacteric disorders;
• neuromuscular tension after mental, physical stress.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR MASSAGE
x acute inflammatory diseases;
x elevated body temperature;
x cancer and benign tumors;
x skin infections or chronic dermatosis;
x history of hypertensive or hypotensive crisis;
x pregnancy;
x tendency to internal and external bleeding;
x instability of the cervical spine;
x mental disorders;
x cardiovascular insufficiency;
x decompensation of kidney and liver function;
x venereal diseases.
